I think I was an owl in my past life.
I've been staying up, wide awake, straight 24 hours since last week. Not that I couldn't sleep. I WANTED TO SLEEP SOOOOO BADLYYYY!!!! But I have to work and finish my schoolwork. So after work this morning, I went home and finished my assignment. I started it by 7:00AM and I was done by 3:18AM the following day. Good Lord, I barely had 2 hours of sleep! No caffeines, shots, meds, energy drinks or whatever. I was just awake and facing this monitor for like eternity.
Well, the good thing about myself is that when I'm dead-set to finish something, my mind and body seems to cooperate. I don't feel hungry, thirsty, sleepy, etc. And after I've already finished my requirements, I S T I L L C A N T S L E E P.
I already lack sleep since Friday. Now, I feel like a battery running out of life. :( Why?
--> I was awake from Friday 7PM to Saturday 9:30PM. Woke up 11PM and slept by 3AM.
--> I was awake from Sunday 6:30AM to Monday 10AM.
--> I was awake from Monday 6PM to up to now! It's already Wednesday 4:07AM!!!
To keep myself up, I'll be working out later! =)
And after working out, the next better thing to do is EAT!!!!
Then after that, the BEST thing to do is to SLEEP!
These are the times when even just seeing a bed makes me wanna cry.

Push Button to Eject Trainer
The last option if all else fails. I'm the person who seldom gets irritated. But when I do, I have to resort to pressing this button.
Who is this person?
My trainer. He's all nice I guess but his presence just basically makes me feel annoyed. I really don't know why. The only person who's there to unconsciously ruin my "gym" life. Yes, he was there to assist but in a really different kind of way. I should've chosen a different trainer, one who's not too close for comfort, not "corny" and not so bossy.
Doesn't affect me that much though. I have long mastered the art of ignoring people. So this one, I can treat as just plain pffffft.
I gotta stay fit and fab. He's gotta stay OUT of my way.

Super John!
The people who are applauded, idolized and credited will not be able to make it without those who work behind-the-scenes. Sometimes, it pays to really know what makes a good song, a celebrity or a great movie. One thing that I look for in a movie is its soundtrack or what most people refer to as its OST. A movie without music is just plain dry and boring, no matter how good the story is. I couldn't imagine myself watching Madagascar, Batman, Shrek or any movie that you can think of WITHOUT music.
Yes, we loved Snow Patrol after we watched Spiderman 3. We also listened regularly to Counting Crows after watching Shrek. We also found out that Gwyneth Paltrow can sing. But we are forgetting the movie's original score. This is just instrumental played by an orchestra. If you're the type of person who really loves music, you wouldn't let yourself miss hearing this from the funniest up to the most scariest movie. Sometimes, it's the music that really scares you and makes you scream.
Not all people are familiar with John Williams. He is the man behind the original score of greeeeattt movies such as Star Wars, Born on the 4th of July, Superman, Harry Potter, Jaws, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, E.T., Raiders of the Lost Ark, Hook, Amistad, Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot, Minority Report etc. He also composed theme music for 4 Olympic Games and other TV series.

Para sa akin, ang Extortion ay isang uri ng paglalambing.

You Come and Go
If there's only one thing in this world that I truly truly truly believe in, hindi ito LOVE. Hindi rin ang sinasabi ng mga scientist na ang TAO ay nagmula sa UNGGOY. Hindi ko rin tinutukoy ang LIFE AFTER DEATH. At lalong hindi ko tinutukoy ang paniniwala nang iba na magsasarado na ang FRIENDSTER.
I am referring to the LAW OF KARMA.
Maniwala kayo at sa hindi, I've been reading the bible simula nung bata pa ako. Kaya siguro lumabo ang mata ko kasi ang liliit ng letra. Kaya nun pa lang, alam ko na pag may ginawa kang bad, babalik sayo to nang mas matindi. As I grew up, I guided myself na gumawa ng tama, never ko binigyan ng sakit ng ulo ang parents ko at pinipilit kong maging mabuting tao. Kasi I know in time, may mapapala naman siguro ako sa mga pinaggagagawa ko. I never ask for anything in return. At lahat nang ginagawa ko ay bukal sa loob ko (ang lalim dude hehe). This is too much of a self-gratification I know pero I just want everybody to know na ito lang naman talaga ang kelangan nating gawin sa buhay natin.
Para sa akin, eto ang law of karma:
♥ Be good to other people. Wag mamimili ng tao. Dapat kahit kanino marunong ka makisama. Pag mabait ka sa ibang tao, mabait din sila sayo. If not at inaway ka nila, dapat mabait ka pa rin. Kasi pag galit na galit sila at hindi ka nagreretaliate, sino ang mukhang tanga? Hindi na dapat tanungin sa akin kung ano ang sagot.
♥ Be of service to others. Wag ding mamimili ng tutulungan. Mas i-priority natin yung mga nangangailangan ng tulong. The things that we think are simple, pwedeng big deal na sa ibang tao. Kapag tumulong ka sa iba, dapat wala kang iniisip o hinahanap na kapalit. Lahat ng pagtulong na gagawin mo, babalik sayo.
♥ Always say Thank You. Kahit maliit na bagay na ginawa syo ng ibang tao, magpasalamat ka. Yung simpleng pinigilan ng isang tao na magsara ang elevator pag nakita ka nyang nagkakandarapa para makaabot, magpasalamat ka sa taong yun. Pag nagpasalamat ka sa ibang tao, you wouldn't even know na nabuo mo pala ang araw nila. I once read sa Chicken Soup for the Soul (isa sa mga entry dun), story nya mismo na muntik na syang mag-suicide kasi feeling nya wala ni isa mang tao sa mundo ang nakaka-appreciate sa kanya. Then he changed his mind when someone thanked him out of the blue.
♥ Haba-aaaaaaaaaaannnnnnn ang pasensya. Kung 2 inches lang ang pasensya mo, gawin mo itong 2 meters o mas mahaba pa. Bumili na ng bonggang-bonggang tape measure para masukat ang pasensya mo. Pahabain ito ng sobraaaaaannng haba. Dapat cool lang tayo palagi. Dapat para lang tayong rubber band. Elastic. Pwede ring bumigay pag sobra na, pero pwede pa namang i-stretch sa pinaka-maximum.
♥ Always see the good in people. Lahat ng tao may good side. Kung may hindi ka nagugustuhan na ugali ng isang tao, isipin mo na lang palagi yung good points nya. Kung wala syang good points, hanapan mo pa rin at mag-imbento ka. Pag nag-focus tayo sa good side ng isang tao, ganun din gagawin nila sayo. Mahirap sya gawin kasi para syang white paper na pag nilagyan mo ng dot, iisipin mo madumi na. Dun ka lang nagfofocus sa dumi, tingnan mo yung bandang taas, baba, yung gilid, malinis naman di ba? May space pa para makapag-F.L.A.M.E.S.
♥ At.... Always do the RIGHT thing. No matter what. Gumawa lamang ng TAMA. Yung TAMA na alam mong wala kang dinadayang mga tao, yung TAMA na alam mong dapat at nararapat lang gawin ng isang tao. Pag hindi ka gumawa ng tama, ok lang naman eh, basta handa ka lang sa karma.
Ilang beses ko na napatunayan ang karma. Pag nanakawan ako, mas matindi pa at bonggang-bongga ang kapalit. May pinagtawanan ako dati (sorry hindi ko napigil) kasi nadulas sya. After a few minutes, nadulas din ako, tatlong beses pa, my gaaad. May sinaktan ako dati (uyyy lovelife), tapos eventually ako naman ang na-hurt. Nung kinder pa ako, inagaw sa akin nung classmate ko yung gift sa akin si Santa Claus, isang set yun ng brush, suklay at salamin, kanya daw yun at hindi sa akin. Sinumbong ko sa mommy ko tapos nung kukunin ng mommy ko yung gift na para sa akin, biglang lumabas ulit si Santa Claus, binuhat ako kasi wala akong dalang regalo at binigyan nya ako ng malaking train!
Araw-araw nangyayari ang karma. Maliliit at malalaking karma. Kung naniniwala ka rito, wala kang poproblemahin sa buhay mo dahil magiging positive ka palagi at puro tama lang ang gagawin mo. Kung ano ang ginawa mo, for sure, babalik to sa yo (play demonic laughter).
I hope you can all watch ang isa sa mga paborito kong movie..Pay It Forward. Hindi sya sikat na movie pero it simply tells how karma goes. Nagsimula sya sa isang school project kung saan the kids were asked to make a project that can change the world. Then this kid named Trevor started to make a good deed to three people and in turn, he asked each of them to do the same to three other people. You wouldn't know how many people turned up when the kid died. Sobrang hindi ko malimutan ang movie na yun and it really made me cry.

Isang pares ng Havaianas o isang malaking kahon ng Spartan?

Lahat na lang nang nakakasalubong ko araw-araw, may suot-suot na Havaianas. Kahit hindi kagandahan ang feet at hindi maayos ang nail polish sa paa, nagsusuot nito. At dahil ginanahan akong magsearch after I made my "Chuck Taylor" blog. Havaianas naman ang pagdidiskitahan ko. San ba kasi galing ang tsinelas na yan na napakamahal eh may Spartan at Beach Walk naman sa tabi-tabi?
We all know that it's from Brazil. Pero ginaya lang nila ang mga Hapon. Nakakita na ba kayo ng Japanese flip-flop? eto yun...
Nagstart lang sya mapansin ng middle and upper classes sa Brazil nung 1994. Dahil daw ito ang laging binibili ng mga turista dun and dahil na rin nag-change sila ng design. 1994 din nila ni-release yung monochromatic sandals. By 1998, ni-release nila ang Havaianas Brazil, special edition to, in honor of the World Cup.
So how do we pronounce it? Hindi sya "Ha-va-yaa-nas". It's pronounced as "ah-vai-YAH-nas". Silent H po. Portuguese word sya, and it means "Hawaiians". Why Hawaiians? Tribute daw nila ito sa Hawaii.
New adaptations include custom-made pairs for wedding favors and a ladies jewel-studded Swarovski crystal pair, which sells for $195 at Nordstrom.(whew!)
A fun fact: all the Havaianas in the world come from a single factory in Campina Grande, a city in the northeastern state of Paraíba. Kung saan man yun, hindi ko alam. Hahaha..

His name rings a bell, right? Araw-araw ko sya nakikita. Paborito ko sya pero di ko sya kilala. Nakita mo na rin siguro ang name nya kung saan-saan.
Yan ako at ang chucks ko. Kung saan-saan na nakarating yan. Syempre dapat kasama si Doraemon. Maraming nagko-collect ng shoes na to. Iba-ibang kulay. design, meron pang personalized. Pero have you asked yourself kung sino ba si Chuck Taylor at bakit Chucks ang tawag sa kanya eh Converse nga ang brand.
At dahil sa ayoko na may tanong na hindi nasasagot, binigyan ko ng chance ang sarili ko na mag-research. Hehehe... At dahil alam kong intrigero at intrigera kayo....read on..
Converse is an American shoe company that has been making shoes since the early 20th century. Ang pasimuno ng company na yan eh si Marquis M. Converse, who was previously a respected manager at a footwear manufacturing firm. He opened the Converse Rubber Shoe Company (also known as the Boston Rubber Shoe Company) in Malden, Massachusetts in 1908. Rubber shoe manufacturer ang company na to and they provide winterized rubber soled footwear for men, women, and children. By 1910, Converse was producing 4,000 shoes daily (wow 4,000 hehe). The company's main turning point came in 1917 when the Converse All-Star basketball shoe was introduced. Then in 1921, a basketball player named Charles H. or "Chuck" Taylor (eto na ang salarin na si Chuck Taylor hehe) walked into Converse complaining of sore feet. At dahil sa nagreklamo sya, Converse gave him a job. He worked as a salesman and ambassador, promoting the shoes around the United States, and in 1923 his signature was added to the All Star patch.
Converse lost much of its apparent near-monopoly from the 1970s onward dahil nagsulputan na ang mga kalaban...Adidas, then Nike, then a decade later Reebok, who introduced radical new designs to the market. Converse found themselves no longer the official shoe of the National Basketball Association, a title they had relished for many years. Then they filed for bankruptcy on January 22, 2001. When the company subsequently changed hands that year, the last factory in the United States was closed. I'm Sorry!!!!
Waaahhhh...I've been too pre-occupied with work and study and look at what happened to my pet...
This is Poopa. My male black lab. My virtual pet. I was so naawa when I saw him. The least thing I can do for myself is keep a virtual pet. If I can have my way, I want to always have dogs around me. My days brighten up whenever I see dogs. Bata pa lang ako, mahilig na ako sa dogs. I play with them, feed them, clean up their mess and nakakatabi ko rin pag-sleep. =) Too bad, pets are not allowed sa place ko kaya pwede na tong virtual pet hehe. I got this from Pokey (through Facebook).
I had a pet before named Ash. She almost died of Parvovirus. But she survived!
Canine parvovirus is a particularly deadly disease among young puppies, about 80% fatal, causing gastrointestinal tract damage and dehydration as well as a cardiac syndrome in very young pups. It is spread by contact with an infected dog's feces. Symptoms include lethargy, severe diarrhea, fever, vomiting, loss of appetite, and dehydration.
I think Ash got the virus pag wino-walk ko sya kasi lagi lang sya sa loob ng house. I was almost on the verge of crying when she was defacating blood na (sorry, if you're eating) and she was almost paper thin. But with the help of a veterinarian friend, who gave her a vaccine for Parvo, she got well. I had to buy a syringe so she can drink Gatorade (for dehydration). Kasi she won't eat or drink anymore. I really had to do it to save her. She couldn't even stand up or scratch herself. Tapos one time, I was in bed and she was on the floor, nagulat ako when she stood up and scratched her ears! Meaning, she was slowly regaining her strength na. Then she drank water all by herself. I was so HAPPY!
Going back to Poopa, he won't definitely get any virus. But the REAL thing is still better than the virtual one. But i'm stil naaawa even if he's just my virtual pet hehe.

After years of working, first time ko mapasama sa Earthquake Drill. It's either my off kasi or ibang shift ako kaya hindi ko matyempuhan. Masaya pala sya! Lol..We were in production tapos may boses na galing sa kalawakan (parang yung mga live phone patch pag may birthday surprise sa A.S.A.P. hahaha). Feeling namin eh sya yung inglisera naming lady guard na may Visayan accent ang nagsasalita. Eto ang script nya:
"Attention: All employees are now instructed to evacuate the building as safe as possible. We are now experiencing (sabi nya --> ekspiryen---sing) an earthquake. Please form a line leading to the nearest exit."
At habang sinasabi nya yan ng paulit-ulit eh nakaupo pa rin kami at nagtatawanan. So pila naman kami. Bumaba kami at may dinaanan kaming hallway na nun ko lang nadaanan hahaha..na may malalaking pipes sa taas. Feeling ko mas mamamatay ako dun kung dun ako dadaan if magkaron ng totoong earthquake. So yun nakalabas na kami ng building. Walkathon pa kami and naloka ako kasi hanggang sa paglabas namin ng door sa production floor eh umuulan ng guards sa paligid namin. Hanggang makalabas papunta sa main area na akala ko papakainin kami kasi malapit sa MiniStop. Hahahaha... Nag-cause pa kami ng traffic kasi mahaba yung pila namin. Ang daming nakapaligid sa amin at nag-susupervise ng drill. May guards, pulis, traffic enforcer, ambulance, mga patrol cars at photographer. Sosyal di ba. Pagdating namin sa main area eh may mga nakahawak ng flags so dun ka pupunta kung saang department ka or account.
Nainis ako kasi mainit nun. Ayoko kasi ng pinapawisan ako. Pero ok lang kasi syempre dapat may picture-taking. Hahaha... Medyo nainip lang ako ng konti kasi antagal bago kami bumalik na akala ko eh kukuha pa sila ng pari para magmisa dun for us. Hehe.. Eto na ang pictures!
Ok lang mag-drill araw-araw basta wag lang mangyari ang totoong earthquake. Cover your heads! =P

We've been playing 90s songs (a playlist from my phone) at the office this week. The beat is so distinct but at times when you listen to it, you're more into dancing than really knowing what the song really means. And yes, The Sign by Ace of Base is soooooooooo 90's but it's only now that I got to really listen to the lyrics. It's a song for those who finally realized that an ex-lover/lover is not worth loving at all (para sa mga natanggal na ang helmet haha). Good good good song I should say. This deserves to have a good cover version. Well, I saw this video on YouTube, it would be better if this will be officially recorded. This is a cover by Nice Peter. 5...4...3...2...1...
Deadlines. Either you make it on or before the deadline else, your dead. We encounter deadlines EVERY SINGLE DAY. It just hides itself in the form of beating the clock when you're running late, when a visitor is coming in 5 minutes and you still have not taken a bath and your house is a mess, meeting targets on the specified time at work, beating the red light, patients confined in an ICU in need of type AB blood in 4 hours, a girl given a week to decide to choose between two guys, athletes who want to top the world record and a whole lot more. Everybody's rushing when you hear the word deadline.
Now deadlines are ruling my life ever since I decided to go back to school. I'm working and I'm studying at the same time. I'm lucky enough to have 4 hours of sleep. My room's a mess. My vision's getting worse. I don't have much appetite. I see numbers and variables when I sleep. Every week is a nightmare. I feel that I only have 4 days a week, 16 days a month and 192 days a year. I even find texting tiring to do now. Normally, I reply within an hour or two. But now, it takes around close to 36 hours before you receive a reply from me.
Stressful as it may sound. This is the time when even the slightest, tiniest, micro-sized stuff makes me jump for joy. I didn't notice its benefit before but I'm glad that my parents enrolled me in a chinese school during my elementary days and got to learn a bit of "chinese mathematics" as a kid. Because if not, it would be doubly hard for me to get past my assignments now. It's really helping me a lot. Food? Yes! it makes me happy now. When I'm cramming and I don't have the appetite or I just simply forgot to buy food, even FITA biscuits tastes like heaven to me. And the good news for the day, when I only have less than 6 hours to finish answering questions which makes my neurons commit harakiri, came from my Prof in Discrete Mathematics:
2 more days! It's like two years for me. Whew.
But then I realized, deadlines are not that bad. Why?
Because there has to be something that will make you start and do what you have to do. And..there has to be something that will make you stop and give up what you can no longer do.

Wala Kayo sa Lolo Ko!

True enough, we have no right to complain. But sometimes, reading sayings like this will just make you realize it for a minute or two. The following day, you'll complain again. But what if, you encounter real people who are so poor but they do not complain?
I rarely watch TV because of my uber hectic schedule but last saturday, I decided to watch TV, surfed channels and Howie Severino's Sine Totoo on GMA-7 caught my wandering attention. The episode was about a segment from Vicky Morales' Wish Ko Lang featuring Jan Pabilona, an 82-year old lolo from Cavite. With only 50 pesos to spend, he goes to Baclaran from Cavite then he walks all the way to Ortigas. He goes there to look for jobs. He does this every single day just to find a job or even get hired for just one day so he can feed his family. Even if he gets turned down which happens most of the time, he doesn't feel bad about it.
The second story is about a 73 year-old blind man from Bicol who feeds his sick wife and 3 deaf-mute children by carrying pails of water on his shoulder and delivering it to different houses. He's earning 35 pesos a day which allows him to buy 1 kilo of rice and dried fish for his family.

The things that we ignore and take for granted may be someone else's dream. If you only have 500 pesos in your pocket and you complain that you no longer have enough money till your next payday, think about the people who are earning less than 500 a month to feed a family of 8. If you are complaining about your job, imagine yourself without it.
An eye-opener indeed. We have no right to complain. When bad things happen, we have to appreciate what we have and we have to count our blessings. We always have to remember that there are people who are not as blessed as we are and yet..they do not complain. They just let things be.

GUSTO KO NG ICE CREAM!!!
Hayy... kahapon pa ako nagccrave ng ice cream...as in kahit saan ako tumingin, nagmumukhang ice cream lahat. Yung parang naghahallucinate na ako dahil gusto ko ng malamig na malambot na matamis at natutunaw sa bibig... GUSTO KO NG ICE CREAM!!!! NGAYON DIN!!!!!
Hindi ako nakatiis, umorder ako sa Dial 8McDo, sabi ko sa sarili ko, pwede na sakn ang choco fudge kesa naman lumabas pa ko ng 2am para lang bumili ng ice cream di ba. At habang hinihintay ko ang food ko... tenterereeeeennnnn...!!!! May nagdala ng ice cream sakn! Isang pint! Weeeeeee!!! Walang mapagsidlan ang aking kagalakan hahaha..Ice cream ito ni Mega hehe.. Mega Mocha Crunch ng Magnolia. Masarap pala sya. Loyal kasi ako sa Very Rocky Road at Double Dutch eh..pero idadagdag ko na sya sa mga favorite ko! :) Tapos biglang dumating na rin yung order ko. Syempre kinain ko pa rin yun. Hehe.. Pag ganitong stressed ako sa work at sa studies, kelangan ko ng maraming-marami at bonggang-bonggang pagkain.
Iba talaga nagagawa ng mental telepathy. Ibig sabihin marunong pala ako nun. Kaya simula ngayon, imemental telepathy ko kayo lahat. Hindi kayo makakatulog hanggat hindi nyo ako dinadalahan ng ICE CREAM!!!! harharhar :p

Usual routine at the office. But something really made my day and I wanna hug the monitor when I read this customer's response to my email. This is just part of Stephen's long reply to me which really made me stare at the monitor for like ages. Excuse his spelling and spacing mistakes, it really didn't matter to me. :)
"Thanks again ***** you've been wonderfull and thank you somuch for the time you took to personalize this letter. Have a goodday and just remember on those tough days at work when you've been there for hours looking at a computer and typing your fingers to nubsthat you are making a difference and that just an extra inch out of your way (like writting a personalized letter) makes all the differencein the world to a customer. Happy ******* ;)".
It means a lot when the little things you do are like big stuff for other people. Sometimes, we all get tangled up at work meeting our own deadlines, metrics, etc. We work coz we're earning money for doing so but people like him and millions of other people, call, write, chat with us for assistance and they do not get paid for that. They do complain, shout, curse you from head to foot. Bottomline is, they just need a little bit of help.. and a little bit of heart. Ü

Tha Camerawalls: The debut album launch

Formed sometime in September 2007 by Clementine, formerly of the indie- pop/rock sensation Orange & Lemons, he chose to collaborate with old friends and drummer Ian Sarabia, and former bassist from years ago Law Santiago. FIVE
I've been a long time Imeem fan and I'm really into all types of music which is evident in my profile coz I have tons of loaded music and playlists. I'm glad to know that a lot of people are into my kind of music and I do get daily mails from them asking for favors to send them the mp3 file, thanking me for sharing the music, asking me to add their songs to my playlists, asking me to create a specific playlist.. These little thank you thingies mean a lot to me and it feels good when people appreciate you. Someone even wanted to create a specific Papoo group for me and I just said it's up to him. =)
On the B-side, it's not so pleasing when your favorite music is just a 30 second preview but that is okay since we have to respect the musician's preference not to share their music unless you directly purchase it. Just sorry for the people who can't hear my uploaded music in full length.
It also makes my day when they leave comments or send me messages telling me that they start their day with my playlist. Indeed, music connects people and emotions. Based from my profile stats, I'd like to share with you my profile's top 5 playlists as of June 13, 2008.
